Why do Hawaiians eat anything but ...

Pork or fish or sticky white rice or shave ice? We've asked ourselves that several times since getting here. We've had Kalua pork, Lau Lau pork, Korean BBQ pork, pork & pineapple hot dogs, and house made bacon & sausage; fish tacos, fish sliders and fish & chips; mountains of white rice (breakfast, lunch & dinner); and ginger lemongrass, passion fruit, watermelon & pink lemonade shave ice!

So, it seemed kismet that--while plotting what to do with our evening given the sudden change of weather from sunny to rainy, overcast and misty--we pulled over right in front of The Fish and The Hog (http://thefishandthehog.com). Crazy Yummy!!!

Other favorites so far: Super J's (http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g60580-d2546474-Reviews-Ka_aloa_s_Authentic_Hawaiian_Food_Super_J_s-Captain_Cook_Island_of_Hawaii_Hawaii.html) and Kohala Burger & Taco (http://www.kohalaburgerandtaco.com).

Plus, everyone is ridiculously nice, chatty & helpful.
